Sushi in San Luis Obispo

Bruce had been in the restaurant business for many years before he decided to open up his first Sushi Kokku. He had previously owned a French restaurant in Los Angeles and an Italian restaurant in La Jolla. Bruce and his wife Suki and his chef brother-in-law came up with the Sushi Kokku concept in 2001 and opened up their first restaurant in Goleta, CA. Three years later, Bruce found the perfect location in San Luis Obispo for his concept. That location was a bright corner space with a high ceiling in Madonna Plaza. Once the interior was remodeled using Japanese design concepts and a large crystal chandelier was hung from the ceiling, Sushi Kokku San Luis Obispo also known as "Sushi SLO" was finally opened in 2004, serving some of the best sushi San Luis Obispo had to offer.
